Week 1 – CHECK!
You know that feeling when you hit “submit” on an assignment, breathe a sigh of relief, and then immediately panic because that was too easy? Yeah, that’s been me all week.
I wrapped up my first week of grad school, and honestly, I feel like I must have forgotten something. I mean, I read the syllabus (twice, actually), posted my discussion responses, submitted my assignments before the deadline (who even am I?), and yet… I keep checking my course portal like it’s a social media app, just waiting for a rogue assignment to jump out at me.
Oh, and the discussion boards? I thought I was doing well, but then I blinked, and suddenly there were 87 new replies I “should engage with.” It’s like an HR-themed version of Whack-a-Mole—just when you think you’ve caught up, bam, five more posts appear.
So far, though, I’m loving it. My professors seem great, and my classmates come from all kinds of backgrounds, which makes for some very interesting discussions (and very long scrolling sessions). It’s a little wild being back in school at this stage of life—somehow, I’m both the most prepared and the most nervous student at the same time.
But hey, I survived Week 1! Here’s to figuring out the rest of this journey—one discussion post at a time.
