About Me
Hi there! I’m Melissa, a social services professional with a passion for helping people grow – whether in their careers, personal development, or finding balance in their busy lives. I have a BA in Social Work from the University of New Hampshire and recently made the decision to return to school in my 40s to pursue an MS in Management, with a concentration in Healthcare, at SNHU. This journey has been both exciting and challenging, and I couldn’t do it without the support of my family.
Why This Blog?
This blog is a space where I share insights on career growth, workplace dynamics, and professional transitions. But it’s also about my personal journey—returning to school while working, navigating career changes, and balancing everything with family life. I want to create a space where others, especially adult learners and career changers, feel encouraged to take the leap toward their goals, no matter where they are in life.
A Little More About Me
Beyond my professional world, I’m a lifelong learner (currently on an ASL learning streak!), a dedicated gamer, knitter, hobbyist photographer, and a coffee enthusiast. My teenage child and my husband have been my biggest cheerleaders as I navigate this next chapter. Their support has made this transition possible and reminds me daily that it’s never too late to invest in yourself.
